We are looking at any possible issues that might arise when moving our Pads installation from a 32-bit WinXP machine to (probably) Win7 64-bit hardware. The versions we are running are:
PowerPCB: 5.0.1
PowerLogic 5.0.1
These executables start and run under Windows 64 (Windows 8.1 was what we tried) without complaint, but these DLL files in the PowerPCB folder :
COLLMGR.dll
ctl3dv2.dll
DFTSEC.DLL
padsdll.dll
runlib.dll
winsockx.dll
xwi320.dll
xwi320te.dll
report as being "MS-DOS executable, NE for MS Windows 3.x (driver)". Is this likely to trip us up under Win 64? (EDIT: It might be that these files are left over from an earlier installation of Pads)
The other query we have is our dongle:
which is described in the literature as "16-bit". Assuming we can source hardware with a parallel port, can we expect any other issues (e.g. because of faster processors) ?
Any comments will be welcomed. Thanks for reading this far...
TIA
