Modify a symbol that is attached to a cell and part in the PDB

I created a symbol and used the PDB to attach it to a cell and part. I noticed later that one of the pins should have had a pin type of ANALOG but when I went to change it I get a notice saying "cannot edit port(s) - symbol has frozen interface" the only way it can be changed is by removing everything from the PDB, modifying the symbol and than adding everything back in the PDB which includes remapping the pin numbers.
Is there another way around this? Shouldn't I be able to modify the Pin Types in the symbol editor and update the symbol on the schematic by going to Tools\update symbols in DxDesigner?
